As a small Architectural Practice specialising in residential and commercial design, we offer a service tailored to the needs of individual and corporate clients.
Having a small dedicated team, we offer a personal service ensuring that the first contact will always be with a fully qualified member of staff who will lead the project for the duration of the commission.
- Section 6 Design Certification
- As an Approved Certifier of Design for Energy, we can certify Section 6 Building Warrant applications for both our own designs and other designers including Architects and developers.
- SAP Calculations
- As an accredited SAP Assessor we can produce SAP calculations for new build residential properties.
- U-Value Calculations
- Required as part of the majority of building warrant submissions where extensions to the building envelope are involved.
- Linear Thermal Modelling
- Due to the increased efficiencies required from new properties, thermal modelling of key junctions is becoming more important in today’s design practice.
There are seven stages to each construction project. These are clearly defined work stages with agreed programmes and outcomes. Depending on procurement route and complexity of the project they will be carried out seamlessly in the background working to bring the project together. Depending on which level of service you wish, we can assist with some or all of the stages.
Stage 0: Strategic Definition
This happens at the very outset of each project and it is at this point that the Business Case and Strategic Brief and other core project requirements are set out. Also the programme for the project is agreed (in principle)
Stage 1: Preparation and Brief
Develop Project Objectives, including Quality Objectives and Project Outcomes, Sustainability Aspirations, Project Budget, other parameters or constraints and develop Initial Project Brief. Undertake Feasibility Studies and review of Site Information.
Stage 2: Concept Design
Prepare Concept Design, including outline proposals for structural design, building services systems, outline specifications and preliminary cost information along with relevant Project Strategies in accordance with Design Programme. Agree alterations to brief and issue Final Project Brief.
Stage 3: Developed Design
Prepare Developed Design, including coordinated and updated proposals for structural design, building services systems, outline specifications, Cost Information and Project Strategies in accordance with Design Programme. This is also normally the stage in the project that applications for Planning Consent are made.
Stage 4: Technical Design
Prepare Technical Design to include all architectural, structural and building services information, specialist subcontractor design and specifications, in accordance with Design Programme. This is also normally the stage in the project that applications for Building Warrant are made and when the project goes out to tender.
Stage 5: Construction
The Build, Administration of Building Contract, including regular site visits and review of progress.
Stage 6: Handover and Close Out
Handover of building and conclusion of Building Contract.
Stage 7: In Use
Conclude all matters in relation to the contract, including Post-Occupancy Evaluation, review of Project Performance, Project Outcomes and Research and Development aspects.
